Our Story

2013

The first prototype of our Social Score App is developed, analysing just one social media network.
The FriendlyScore concept is validated with a major lender in Poland. Amazing… it works!

FriendlyScore Headquarters opens in the heart of Europe’s finance capital – London.
We are accepted by the StartupBootcamp Fintech Acceleration Program in London, pitch to major British and global Banks, and seek out seed investors.

2014

2015

In March, we secure investment of £250,000 GBP and in June, we recruit our first employee.
By September, FriendlyScore is ready for market, and begins generating revenue the very next month.

By May, we have pitched FriendlyScore to every country in Europe and in July, we have scored our first 100,000 borrowers.
October sees a new investment of £200,000.

2016

2017

We open a product development office in Poland and launch FriendlyScore on desktop and mobile.
The first European Bank starts using FriendlyScore for credit decisions, and we partner with a major US based credit bureau as well as Qarar in the Middle East.
We launch several proof-of-concept trials with financial institutions, telecoms companies and auto manufacturers to demonstrate the versatility of FriendlyScore.
FriendlyScore is recognised as the most exciting FinTech startup by WebSummit 2017 and wins the FIBC 2017 ISID Award in Tokyo: "Credit Scoring engine". Watch the video
FriendlyScore establishes a presence in Europe, Africa, LATAM and Asia.

FriendlyScore is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority for Credit Broking, Providing Credit Information Services and Providing Credit References.
In April, we present FriendlyScore at FICO WORLD 2018 in Miami and also secure a new investment of £835,000.
We introduce mobile magic links for credit scoring to make it easier for lenders to sign up new borrowers.

Our Team

Loubna Bazine CEO

Loubna is an experienced finance professional. She started at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Credit Agricole, and held Director positions at Standard Chartered Bank and Mitsubishi UFJ Securities. Loubna holds a M.A. in Mathematics of Finance from Columbia University (N.Y.C.) and a B.Sc. in Mathematical Engineering from Pierre et Marie Curie University (Paris VI).

Emilian Siemsia CTO & Founder

Emilian is a dynamic and driven technologist. Artificial intelligence, particularly semantic analysis are of special interest to him. For over 15 years he has held many software developer and technical leader roles. Prior to FriendlyScore he ran a software development house. Emilian was educated at Wroclaw University of Technology, he holds a Master of Science in Automation and Robotics.

Alistar Forbes Mercia Nominee Board Member

Alistair brings technical and business leadership experience to the team. He has created, built and sold start up software businesses and held general management roles in larger companies that have attained global leadership positions in their industry sector. As a private investor and advisor, he has worked both formally and informally with numerous software businesses in the UK and internationally.

Nicolo Petrone Advisor

Nicolo is leading the global expansion of MEDICI. Prior to MEDICI, he has developed a strong corporate finance background working for a leading Italian boutique consulting Firm. He is an international Economist with a BA degree from Italian University Federico II. He has an MA degree in International Business from Hult International Business School (SF) and a specialisation in Business Analytics at the Wharton Business School.

Francis Darby Chief Data Scientist

Prior to joining FriendlyScore, Francis worked at FICO for 2 years in their San Rafael, California office as a Lead Analytic Consultant. His role there involved delivering analytic solutions to financial institutions across the Americas in scorecard development for credit risk and fraud. He also has 4 years’ experience working for Barclays Bank in credit risk modelling in both London and New York City where he helped to develop regulatory models (Basel and IFRS9) for their retail lending businesses in Europe, Africa and the USA. Francis holds an MSc in Business Analytics from Imperial College Business School and a BSc in Mathematics from Cardiff University.

Peter Bowles Data Scientist

Prior to joining FriendlyScore, Peter worked at Lloyds Banking Group for 4 years in both quantitative and managerial roles within the Risk division. His work spanned model development, technical validation and oversight, and his achievements included building the Bank’s first Financial Literacy model and successfully delivering several high profile mortgage remediation projects whilst acting as project lead. Peter holds a PhD in Mathematics and has published several peer-reviewed papers in the field of Quantum Mechanics. He also holds an MSc in Theoretical Particle Physics and a BSc in Physics.

Deepak Bhatia Senior Product Developer

Deepak is a mobile developer, with a speciality in Android & Java development. Prior to joining FriendlyScore, Deepak worked as developer consultant to companies implementing Android applications. He has also worked 2 years at the University of Surrey as a Sr.Resnet Advisor, working in identifying, troubleshooting & resolving networking issues at the University residences. Deepak achieved a Masters in Advanced Computer Science from the University of St. Andrews, UK.
